Manisha is a Master of Laws graduate from the prestigious Ivy League Cornell University Law School, United States. She read law at the prominent Amity Law School, and holds a certificate in Corporate Law and Governance from the renowned London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), United Kingdom.
Manisha is the Managing Partner at UKCA and Partners, and brings to the firm an extensive view of Corporate Laws from the biggest players around the world. Prior to joining the firm, she has worked with some of the top lawyers and law firms of the country. While at Cornell, she was under the guidance of the top lawyers and management professionals from New York City, thus gaining tremendous insight into the corporate and legal culture in U.S.A.
Her forte lies in the field of Corporate and Insolvency Law Litigation and Consultancy, Negotiations, Corporate Restructuring, M&A, Private Equity and Commercial Transactions. She has also been handling matters relating to Capital and Financial Markets Regulations before various authorities, and is also developing a niche practice in Competition Law. She regularly appears before various tribunals such as the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), Competition Commission of India (CCI) and their appellate authority the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) and High Courts of various states and the Supreme Court of India. Manisha is also on the panel on various government authorities such as Delhi State Civil Supply Corporation, National Horticulture Board and Delhi Nagrik Sehkari Bank Limited.
Under her leadership, UKCA and Partners was awarded the Emerging Law Firm of the Year (Dispute Resolution), by the Indian National Bar Association.
Manisha has been featured as a one of the “Shining Start of Indian Legal Fraternity” in a coffee-table “Constellations” book published in the year 2019, by the Corporate Counsels Association of India (CCAI); has also been featured by Start-up City magazine as Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 edition in the law firm category; and as one of India’s most “Trusted Corporate Lawyers” in the 1st edition of a coffee-table book “The Vanguards” published in the year 2017, by the India Corporate Counsel Association (ICCA) with support from Ministry of Law & Justice and Ministry of Commerce & Industry;
Manisha and the firm have been regularly featured in the media for the matters she handles.
Manisha is on the advisory board of India Law Journal (ILJ) and Corporate Law Journal (CLJ). She is also an avid writer and has many published articles in various legal and corporate magazines. She has also presented varied subjects at seminars held all over India and has been a panellist at many legal conferences. Manisha has also been appointed as the Alternate Chairperson for merger/ demerger meetings by the Hon’ble National Company Law Tribunal.
Manisha has been at the forefront of enhancing legal education and is a regular guest lecturer at various law schools and judge at moot courts. She is actively involved in helping various start-ups with their legal and funding issues and works pro bono for social enterprises in order to help them better serve the general public. Children rights and women empowerment are two other subjects that are very close to her heart.
