N. Raja Singh is a Co-Managing Partner at UKCA, and heads the Banking, Commercial & Corporate Litigations practices, as well as the domestic and international Arbitration practice of the firm. Raja has over fifteen years of experience in advising individual and corporate clients across a wide-range of Banking, Commercial & Corporate, Civil, Domestic & International Arbitration matters. He has advised both Indian and overseas corporate clients in several high-profile antitrust investigations, concerning price fixing, price discounting and bid rigging.

Experience

Raja has represented clients in legal challenges brought against the provisions of Companies Act, Securitisation Act and various Civil laws before the Tribunals and Courts pan-India. He has also represented many the financial creditors in the insolvency proceeding before NCLT, involving conflict of the provisions of SEBI Act and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code with respect to the jurisdiction; wherein the NCLT held that Insolvency law will override the SEBI law in a landmark judgement.

Raja also represented Indian corporate client in the International arbitration held at Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission. He has represented over dozens of underwriters across India, in one of the biggest Arbitral proceedings in PHD Chamber of Commerce relating to IPO’s disputes, which has now been settled between the parties.

Leadership, Members, & Awards

Raja is member of Delhi High Court Bar Association, Bar Association of Debt Recovery Tribunal and INSOL India. He has been appointed time and again as an Alternate Chairperson for the Court convened meeting for mergers, appointed as Local Commissioner by the Hon’ble Delhi High Court and Auctioneer by the Ld. Debt Recovery Tribunal. Raja has been at the forefront on pro-bono work for private clients especially in the field of civil laws, and he is also the panel counsel for Delhi Nagrik Sehkari Bank Limited.

Raja has been a regular speaker and participated in various conferences across the country. His cases have been extensively covered in the media, including but not limited to those of HBN Dairies, Indiabulls etc.
